How long does expressed breast milk keep?

How long you can safely keep expressed breast milk depends on the storage method. Consider these general guidelines for healthy infants:

  • Room temperature. Freshly expressed breast milk can be kept at room temperature for up to six hours. If you won't use the milk that quickly or the room is especially warm, transfer the milk to an insulated cooler, refrigerator or freezer.
  • Insulated cooler. Freshly expressed breast milk can be stored in an insulated cooler with ice packs for up to one day. Then use the milk or transfer the containers to the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Refrigerator. Freshly expressed breast milk can be stored in the back of the refrigerator — not the door — for up to five to eight days.
  • Freezer. Freshly expressed breast milk can be stored in a standard refrigerator freezer for up to three to six months and in a chest freezer for up to six to 12 months. Place the milk in the back of the freezer — not the door.
Use thawed breast milk within 24 hours. Discard any remaining milk. Don't refreeze thawed or partially thawed breast milk.

Postpartum Depression

A friend asked, "Buti hindi ka nagka postpartum depression. Career woman for years then suddenly full-time mom".

Pinipigilan ko. Aware ako na posibleng mangyari yun.

It wasn't easy. Of course, you won't have your own extra money, you won't be able to do a lot of things anymore and it's physically demanding.

But this is the best option sa ngayon. Kahit na mahirap basta magkakasama kaming tatlo.

May savings naman kami and pwede naman akong mag home based business or magfreelance programmer. Ganun talaga ang buhay may asawa. Hindi man marami ang kita, marami naman ang time kay baby Aya. Horaay!

Thank You

Being a first time mom is very challenging especially kung malayo ka sa pamilya mo. Mula sa adjustment being a mom in general, adjustment being a mom and a wife at the same time hanggang sa adjustment living in singapore with little one.

Pag naging nanay ka pala, halos wala ka nang oras sa sarili mo. Mamimiss mo yung anytime ka magyaya gumala with your husband, pwede. Anytime ka magyaya sa starbucks with friends, pwede. Or kahit simpleng tumambay lang at makipagkwentuhan sa sala hanggang madaling araw, pwede.

Pero swerte ako na I have Aldous to support me and willing to do the other household chores. Swerte ako na I live with my friends na hindi ko na kailangang lumayo para makipagkwentuhan at makipagtawanan. Swerte ako na they are very supportive na willing silang bantayan or laruin si aya habang busy kami. Swerte ako na I have them lalo na ngayon na nasa adjustment stage pa lang ako being a mom.

Shout out kay AldousMaanneRollyMailene, Inah, tita Amy, THANK YOU. Thank you at iginala nyo kami ni aya kahapon. Hehe! And, thank you po na andyan kayo lalo na't malayo kami sa pamilya namin. Thank you!

Pag nag-aalaga ka pala ng baby, kulang ka sa tulog, kulang sa energy, kulang sa fb, madalas makakalimutin ka, sabaw ka pa. Hehe! Ok lang, super worth it naman lahat!..  Sana lagi kang healthy, baby ko.. Love na love kita..

Children learn what they live

"Children learn what they live. The most effective way to teach kids is to treat them the way we want them to treat others: with compassion and understanding. When we spank, punish, or yell, kids learn to act aggressively."
